As the grandchild of Palestinian refugees, I write to untangle the idea of homeland—what it means to claim a place I’ve never seen, yet feel tethered to. Born into a family where Palestine was ever-present in stories but physically distant, I wrestle with an inheritance that is both a source of pride and pain. I attempt to navigate the weight of a legacy I’ve long sought to avoid.
My memoir, They Told Me Back Home Would Be Beautiful, is forthcoming from One Signal at Simon & Schuster (Fall 2026). I am represented by Iwalani Kim of Sanford J. Greenburger Associates.
